Le jeu en classe peut-il aider à la résolution de problèmes mathématiques ?

Abstract : Resolving problems is the principal activity in mathematics programs of elementary school, especially for the last classes : so it is an important issue of the teaching of mathematics. In this research work, we took an interest in the game, wondering if playing strategy games in class could enable pupils to progress in resolving problems. After theoretical contributions about game and its use in class firstly, and about resolving problems in school secondly, this work reports experiments done in a 5th grade class. Between two sessions of resolving problems, pupils of this class were invited to play three strategy games we can find in commerce : Connect 4, Reversi and Master-Mind. The analysis of the results demonstrated that game had positive effects on pupils' performance in resolving problems, because results after game sessions were better than results before game sessions
