Dépistage des troubles de la communication des malades Alzheimer : validation de la GECCO dépistage

Abstract : Early implementation of systemic rehabilitation procedures in the treatment of Alzheimer's patients has been shown to be a key issue. As no tools existed for the early screening of communication disorders in Alzheimer's patients, the French "GECCO dépistage" screening test - a shorter version of the "GECCO complète" test - was designed to help professionals identify the early signs of the disease prior to a more thorough evaluation with "GECCO complète" and then leading to a rapid handling of the patients. In the course of our research we analysed the results of 128 Alzheimer's patients and 35 controls to initiate the validation of this tool. The sensitivity and validity of the test were demonstrated. Another interesting asset is that it is very easy to use in current clinical practice.
