Apprentissage de l'orthographe lexicale et rappel de l'ordre sériel

Abstract : In order to establish the role of a specific component of verbal short term memory - serial order processing - in the acquisition of orthographic knowledge, we tested 77 children in their third year of primary school on the implicit acquisition of the spelling of non-words. We then made a comparison with their performance in other tasks. Only previous orthographic knowledge and serial order processing proved to be correlated to the non-word task with variations related to the moment when recall took place and the characteristics of non-words. Associated or dissociated profiles do exist.
