Évolution des représentations orthographiques à travers une analyse des erreurs d'enfants en CP puis CE1

Abstract : This longitudinal study has examined the setting up and the evolution of spelling abilities. Therefore, we have analysed the spelling performances of French children, at two moments, firstly at the end of first year of primary school and again in the middle of the second year, through the analysis of spelling mistakes found in a word-dictation task. We have also analysed other cognitive abilities linked with the spelling activity. Results revealed a significant evolution of all aspects of orthographic knowledge. They indicated that spelling performances are only connected to the quality of phonological abilities and reading performances, and that they are mainly determined by the initial spelling level.
