Modélisation de la bathymétrie par télédétection : caractérisation de l'évolution diachronique des mésohabitats fluviaux. Application à la basse vallée de l'Ain

Abstract : Current river monitoring and restoration processes have largely not accounted for the evolution of riffle/pool sequences and has only relied on hydrobiological changes. We provide a new method for identifying and characterizing the evolution of riffle/pool sequences based on the bathymetry extracted from aerial images and in situ measurements. This study first focuses on image correction methods to compensate for variability caused by natural (flow, algal development, shadows) and physical phenomena (sensor type). Second, the study addresses interpolation methods, highlighting the use of kriging to compensate for the lack of information and to smooth the bathymetry across the channel. Finally, a classification method for distinguishing riffle/pool sequences was used to assess the mesohabitat's temporal evolution.
