Utilisation d'une grille d'observation destinée aux thérapeutes, auprès d'enfants déficients mentaux pratiquant l'atelier comptine

Abstract : Children with intellectual disabilities present a range of communication impairments that requires a specific consideration. Institutions offer therapeutic workshops in order to get round their difficulties. A counting rhyme workshop provides a positive opportunity for more verbal and non verbal interactions in which gestures, eye contact, rhythms and voice sounds tend to be stimulated. Observing this particular therapy highlights the complexity for special needs instructors to set up a complete and precise summary about each child. Note taking during a workshop session can be impossible. Our study suggests an observation checklist focused on early social communication skills, supplemented with charts. This specific tool may generate a precise analysis of children evolution through the year. The experiment suggests that an observation checklist could be an efficient tool, leading to analyze and draw up children communication profile.
