Analyse topographique de l'enneigement en haute montagne par télédétection optique. Application au Tien Shan (Kyrgyzstan)

Abstract : The European ACQWA program is a project for assessing climate impacts on the hydrology in mountains. This work is conduce to analyze snow cover area in a 112000 km² watershed located in Kyrgyzstan, central Asia over the period 1987-2010. Reflectance pictures from remote sensors MODIS, on satellite TERRA and AVHRR, on satellite NOAA are used to produce snow maps. In addition, a digital elevation model is used to do a topographic study of the snow cover area in Kyrgyzstan between 1987 and 2010. Results from this analysis revealed in particular that snow cover area has decreased and its temporal variability has increased over the high elevated uplands, between 1987-1999 and 2000-2010. Ground meteorological data analysis confirmed that changes of the snow cover area are consistent with higher winter temperatures during 2000-2010.
