Grossesse spontanée après naissance d'un enfant obtenu par fécondation in vitro : un mystère ? Étude rétrospective sur les caractéristiques des couples ayant eu une seconde grossesse : spontanée versus FIV

Abstract : This retrospective study, including 58 couples, concerns the possible prognostic factors of the couples who had a spontaneous pregnancy whereas the previous pregnancy occurred thanks to IVF. With this aim, we compared women who, after having given birth to a living child by IVF, have given birth a second time, either after a spontaneous pregnancy (group S) or after another IVF pregnancy (group F), and this with the same spouse. The study has shown that group S couples displayed more female infertilities. Additionally, it also showed evidence of the absence of idiopathic infertility within this group. Moreover, these couples presented male infertilities described as severe, nearly as many as in the group F. As a consequence, no predictive factor of the spontaneous pregnancy after a first IVF pregnancy has been found.
