Évolution de la permanence des soins au Havre‎ : intérêt de la mise en place d’un médecin généraliste en régulation au CRRA du Havre, en journée‎

Abstract : Since 2003, Out-Of-Hours (OOH) services is constantly changing. The regional health agency is trying to find new solutions to counter erosion volunteer doctors, to save money and to best meet patient demand. Objective: Identify reasons for using Le Havre patients referred to the doctor on duty during the day and show the interest of a general practitioner in the regulation of OOH services during the day. Materials and methods: A descriptive cross sectional epidemiological study collected the grounds of appeal of 160 patients referred to the doctor on duty at Havre, working days and hours between January 1 and December 31, 2013. Records with missing information were excluded. Results: The main grounds for appeal include fever, cough, and abdominal pain. Children visit the doctor for a ENT, infectious or gastroenterology problem and seniors for a rheumatological problem. One third of patients complain of pain. Nearly two thirds of patients are women and a third of patients are children. The average age of patients was 26.85 years and the median is 23.5 years. The peaks of calls are in the late morning and early afternoon. Conclusion: A general practitioner regulator on working days and hours will increase advices given to calls concerning OOH services. A decrease of consultations to doctor on duty will be observed. This will yield a saving of manpower and money. However it will repeat this survey to confirm.
