Création d'un site internet de prévention des troubles vocaux chez les comédiens professionnels

Abstract : Theatre actors, because of their occupation, use their voices extensively and are consequently at risk for developing voice disorders. Our study included 52 theatre actors and 196 controls that were assessed through an online survey to allow us to gather information on life habits, vocal knowledge and possible laryngeal alterations and then to compare the results of the two groups. We found out that, in addition to a sometimes rather pool vocal technique, some distinctive features of the profession of theatre actor might contribute to the development of vocal disorders. Hence confirming the necessity to create a preventive tool combining information on anatomy, vocal projection, vocal disorder awareness, risk management and information on speech therapy techniques. The choice of an online tool was certainly a good one as we intend to start updating this website regularly from now on.
