Prévention et prise en charge du burnout chez le chirurgien-dentiste

Abstract : The burnout syndrome affects more and more health professionals and dentists are not spared. Serious subject, sometimes taboo, burnout is however not inevitable. It is a multifactorial phenomenon with professional and individual aspects. These psychic and somatic symptoms are non-specific and polymorphic (anxiety, depression, somatic). Socio-demographic characteristics and risk personality traits and difficult working conditions are all factors that can cause burnout. Knowing that it is hardly possible to completly heal burnout, prevention is the key. The curatives actions should be distributed in time and must combine an individual and an organizational approach. Regarding suffering at work, the challenge of the coming years will be to move from a curative logic to a preventive logic. In this field, all the work still needs to be done.
