La fibrillation auriculaire : physiopathologie et prise en charge selon les nouvelles recommandations de l'ESC 2010 et ses mises à jour de 2012

Abstract : Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a heart rhythm disorder more experienced in general practice. The management of these patients is also very common in pharmacies. It is a misunderstood disorder but it deserves our attention because one in ten people could suffer from the AF. Another, the AF is the cause of many strokes. In Western countries, stroke is a major cause of acquired disability, and the third leading cause of death in adults. Monitoring of AF patients is therefore essential, in view of the seriousness of its consequences, and health expenditure to be likely. In this bibliographic work will address the path physiology of AF, the management of the disease, from the initial consultation to the final treatment plan, through diagnosis, secondary examinations, conventional therapies and new drug treatments as the new oral anticoagulants carry many hopes. Finally, this work deals with the latest recommendations by the ESC on the management of AF, which have changed the practice of medicine in the past three years.
