Intérêt du jeu de rôle dans l'apprentissage de la relation patient-praticien en odontologie pédiatrique

Abstract : Traditionally, communication between practitioner and patient is a key principle of care. This results in a therapeutic alliance that establishes trust, necessary for the patient to be cooperative. Bordeaux Odontology Faculty created a role game to teach the basics of patient-practitioner relationship. It simulates a consultation with a practitioner, his assistant and an accompanied child. This filmed session is followed by an immediate debriefing. Moreover, the most interesting sequences are avalaible on the Apolline platform. Thanks to this and within the educational dental center located in the faculty, the future dentist will be able to work in a secure and controlled environment to improve his communication skills before beginning his job at the clinic. We build a questionnaire survey for students who took part to the sessions to obtain their feedback. The results show that the students have a positive feeling but are not ab! le to describe the concrete skills they developed.
