Le corps à l'école, discipliné pour mieux apprendre ?

Abstract : The body being a topic not enought broach in sciences of education, I chose to study the position of the body at school, especially in the classroom. Facing the imposing teacher's body, the pupil's body is reduced to little : being quiet and still, most of the time. Is that corporal discipline needed in order to learn? Is it rather beneficial and helpful in the process of success or is it harmful and a source of anxiety? The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of that corporal discipline over the performances of an elementary school's 91 pupils, in the matter of problem-solving. Which pupils are positively affected by a strong discipline? Is it possible to connect individual caracteristics (age, sex, learning difficulties) to the influence of that discipline?
