Validation externe du modèle fullPIERS chez les patientes prééclamptiques de la maternité de Port Royal ayant accouché en 2012 ou 2013

Abstract : Introduction : This is an external validation in a French tertiary obstétric center of the fullPIERS model, a tool for predicting severe complications of preeclampsia identifying women at risk within 48 h of hospital admission.
Methods : A retrospective collection for women with preeclampsia which have given birth at Port Royal between 2012 and 2013 has allowed us to compare our population with that of the originator study and verify if the fullPIERS’s performances were reproducible.
Results : 33% of the 223 patients included got severely complicated preeclampsia (against 13% in the originator study) and the model was unable to predict them as effectively as in the originator study (AUC = 0.77 vs. AUC = 0.88).
Discussion : the divergent performance is probably related to different populations. The fullPIERS model is less efficient in a population at high risk of complications.
Conclusion : the integration of a tool like fullPIERS in a population like Port Royal seems irrelevant.
