Conception d'ateliers pour enfants selon la pédagogie bilingue pour l'Institut français de Brême : rôle de l'alternance codique dans la construction des savoirs

Abstract : This paper is an attempt to evaluate the effects of a multilingual approach in the learning process of children of various learning and linguistic profiles from 6 to 12 years old. This paper presents an educational project aiming at launching of a brand new course at the French Institute of Bremen. During this bilingual project new scientific teaching materials were designed to teach the concept of water cycle. Code-switching was to enable and help the construction of scientific knowledge while strengthen language proficiency in order to create synergies both in learning and teaching. These synergies are thought to help save learning and teaching time and cognitive efforts. It appears that an integrative and bilingual teaching approach facilitates the learning process, its impact being visible in the long run.
