Revue de cas cliniques utilisant la technique du wax-up/mock-up dans le cadre de facettes céramiques sur dents antérieures : mise en évidence d’un protocole simple, fiable et reproductible

Abstract : Saving tissue is a duty for today's dentist. Each treatment plan must be specific and less invasive as possible. The therapeutic gradient scale is a helpful tool to make this decision. While less and less peripheral crowns are used, ceramic veneers on anterior teeth become a top therapeutic solution. Responding to many indications, the wax-up/mock-up technique stands out. Taking into account the final volume of the tooth, allowing preservation of the enamel, it’s a successful technique with a minimal disrepair. Through the study of several clinical cases from the literature, using this technique, we find a simple, reliable and repeatable Protocol. The keystone of the whole project is the wax-up. Developed from a primary mock-up diagnostic for greater precision, it allows setting up the secondary mock-up diagnostic or APT (Aesthetic Pre evaluative Temporary). Without teeth preparations, the patient tests this resin mask for a we! ek or so. Once the practitioner, the patient and the prosthetist have validated the project, preparations are made through the mask. Only the amount of tissue needed for the establishment of a thin ceramic veneer is removed.
