Lire, un plaisir au cycle 3 ?

Abstract : Usefulness-reading is everywhere in everyday life but what about pleasure-reading ? This is, at first, a social and cultural behaviour which take place out of school. Official texts insist on importance of pleasure-reading, specifying that primary teaching has to help pupils to become autonomous and enthusiast readers. Many scientists show the necessary implication of the reader during his reading. That's why it seems essential to create a positive relation with the book. For this purpose, the teacher must offer a large choice of readings and take care not to force pupils to read, which would go against creation of pleasure-reading. Learning from many didacticians theories, this report briefs about few reading activities which took place in a CM1/CM2 class. These actions were to change pupils behaviour by leading non-readers to read alone and from themselves. Results are quite encouraging even though we can say now that creation of pleasure-reading is a long-term action.
