Simulation virtuelle de l'occlusion dynamique : possibilités actuelles et perspectives

Abstract : The use of simulators is an essential part of the daily practice of the dentist either for the diagnostic phase of the treatment phase or in the design of the prosthetic element. Moreover, recently, the technological advances that have been made in the field of dental CADCAM, required means to simulation the mandibular kinematics. The main purpose of this thesis was to identify the different types of virtual simulators with particular attention to virtual articulator fully adjustable, their work flow and their indications. Through their design, these virtual simulation means could present the same defects as the physical simulators, or on the contrary, they can be developed in an innovative way and they can incorporate the patient's own mandibular kinematics. The use of virtual simulators, in particular the virtual articulator by mathematical simulation, already used to treat a large number of clinical cases. But the development of a new type of virtual simulator: virtual articulator fully adjustable will help treat a greater number of cases.
