Les effets territoriaux des flux migratoires en Europe : le cas des territoires transfrontaliers de la France et de l'Italie

Abstract : The object of this study is the migration flow that, since years already, has been guiding to Europe hundreds of people coming from Africa and Asia. The interest of the author is to look into the territorial effects of these movements, from the point of view of the European policies and local projects. The literature on the experience of the American “gateways cities” lightens the local level for a rapid, efficient and profitable integration of migrants. Once having analyzed this reference, it is investigated the answers to migration by French and Italian cities and communities. The case studies show few possible solutions of inclusion of foreigners populations. Moreover, theirs models can be applied to the cross-border territories between France and Italy, to revitalize the economies of the mountain's villages, far from the big urban areas.
