La diarrhée aiguë du nourrisson et du jeune enfant : évaluation de la prise en charge ambulatoire dans le département de l'Isère

Abstract : Acute diarrhea is one of the most common diseases in infants and young children worldwide. In France, the most common infectious agent is rotavirus (acute gastroenteritis). Evolution is usually mild and lasts only a few days. Nevertheless, there remains a risk of mortality mainly to dehydration. The outpatient care is paramount and it is a public health issue. Oral rehydration and early refeeding are the main basis of recommendations made by the competent authorities. Thus, the medication should not be systematic. We wanted to evaluate the outpatient care in Isere. Partnership with the Primary Health of Isere, we analyzed 350 prescriptions addressing acute diarrhea. The analysis of requirements related to: the legal and pharmaceutical validation, the presence of oral rehydration solution and boards, monitoring and associated recharge for making optimal patient management. We compared our results to the literature on the subject. The evaluation and comparison studies have allowed us to maximize value points in the outpatient care of doctors and the issue of pharmacists.
