Les pragmatèmes dans les dialogues dans les romans de Marc Lévy

Abstract : The aim of this master’s thesis aims to is to conduct a qualitative and quantitative study of pragmatème in a very specific situation of enunciation in Marc Lévy’s novels. The translations from French to Polish were taken into account to make a small sample of contrastive study. The syntactic, semantic and pragmatic criteria were taken into account, which allowed to identify certain types of pragmatems, as well as some tendencies in the translation. The same form of one pragmatem can mean something else in different situations of enunciation. Sometimes pragmatems are not translated or completely omitted. The aim of this paper is to point out this problem in the treatment of pragmatems in translations. The main results have shown us that it is sometimes necessary to change the attitude towards a given expression or to take into account the sufficiently broad context (including cultural context) as well as to give clues how to deal with pragmatems, especially in translation.
