Évaluation des performances de trois systèmes de culture innovants conduits en Bretagne entre 2012 et 2016

Abstract : Three innovative cropping systems (CS), two integrated crop production systems and one organic production system, are tested in Brittany (Crécom (22) and Kerguéhennec (56)). Their objectives are to reduce the use of phytosanitary products (in half in comparison with the Brittany reference of 2008), to improve water quality and to maintain or improve the CS’s profitability and the working conditions, in comparison with the performances-objectives established from a maize-wheat reference system with rational agriculture practices. Twelve indicators are chosen and calculated for the harvest years from 2013 to 2016, including TFI, quantity of active ingredients (QAI), risk of nitrogen leaching, energy consumption, semi-net margin, working time and pesticide toxicity. Only the organic CS reduces the use of phytosanitary products according to the objective of the Ecophyto plan. The innovative CS have lower QAI, energy consumption and pesticide toxicity than the reference CS. Their soil nitrogen balance before drainage is lower than or equal to 50 kg N-NO3/ha. The semi-net margins of the innovative CS are higher than the reference. Finally, the working time is extended for the Crécom integrated CS. In order to reduce the TFI, improvements are made such as increasing the ploughing frequency for the Kerg. integrated CS or the mechanical weeding frequency. The reduction of the frequencies of pig manure application (for cereals) and ploughing would allow the Crécom integrated CS to improve its working time.
