Évaluer ses pairs étudiants pour progresser à l'écrit

Abstract : In view of the evolution of today’s society and the new means of communication, writing skills are increasingly necessary. They expose the writers’ weaknesses in the way they master their language. Consequently there are more and more remedial sessions targeted at undergraduates to improve their writing skills. This shows a real need for students to reappropriate written French.
In order to reactivate their reflection on how the French language works, some students in their first year of Applied Foreign Languages assessed their peers’ written productions and conducted a collaborative research on the merits of their annotations.
These works made it possible to carry out an analysis of the contributions/benefits of proofreading done by peers for the assessors on the one hand and also about the relevance of the mistakes detected by the assessors.
Following these results some didactic solutions have been suggested. They aim at improving the process by diversifying the activities and deepening the metalinguistic reflections. These suggestions have been based on alternating peer assessment and evaluation, collaborative activities (teamwork) and independent working.
