Amélioration des connaissances de l'insecte vecteur du dépérissement sur lavande et lavandin

Abstract : The yellow decline of lavenders is due to the stolbur phytoplasma Candidatus Phytoplasma solani, which is transmitted by the leafhopper Hyalesthes obsoletus. For several years this disease is one of the main lavender problem in France. Today, there is no direct treatment against the phytoplasme and the treatment against the insect is not possible. Alternatives solutions have to be developed. Landscape management could be one of them. The insect has been found in Salvia sclarea culture close to lavender fields. So the question is: what is the impact of this host plant in the dynamic of yellow decline in the departement of les Alpes de Haute-Provence? In this study, we are looking for the factors (environmental and cultural) affecting the presence of H. obsoletus on a Salvia sclarea culture. We have proceeded with interviews and field sampling to collect data and we have analyzed them with several Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA). We found that two principal factors seem to have an impact on the presence of the insect: location and the Shannon index. Into Salvia sclarea fields, H. obsoletus is present on Valensole and Entrevennes’s plateau but is almost absent on Albion’s plateau. The insect seems to be less present on landscape with high Shannon index too. We also observe that, on Valensole and Entrevennes’s plateau, cultural practices seem to have an impact on the number of H. obsoletus into the field. We found that three factors seem to have a positive impact on the number of insect in the culture: a high abundance of weed, an insecticide treatment before flowering and a closed area. On the other side, a low abundance of weed, an open area and other Salvia sclarea fields around seem to decrease the number of insect.
