Anglais / français : quels transferts possibles pour les élèves en difficulté ?

Abstract : French official instructions advocate cross-disciplinary teaching to give pupils more meaning in learning. The purpose of this dissertation is to reflect on an education in languages that allows to promote a metalinguistic posture and the transfer of strategy from English to French and more specifically for pupils in difficulty. On the basis of the pupils' needs, a question raised: can skills acquired in English contribute to develop meaning in French? The work in English is based on a children’s story book. It is about building a strategy of understanding, of raising awareness so that pupils can use it in French. In other words give them tools to succeed. Observations and results reveal that pupils are more motivated and feel valued. Working on the strategy in English help pupils improve their answers in French. Not only languages allow communication and identity but also they helpdeveloping skills in English and French.
