L'impact de la douleur périnéale du post-partum sur la reprise des rapports sexuels : étude transversale au sein d'une cohorte de 209 femmes suivies dans une maternité de type III

Abstract : Background : The risks of perineal pain and troubles due to a delivery are very usual, often causing an upheaval in the wooman’s everyday life, and sometime, an alteration of her sex life, considered as compulsory for the majority of woomen. This study aimed to assess the influence of the perineal pain due to the delivery on the intercourse recovery and on the dyspareunia. Then, to look for the different factors, probably lead to pernieal pain and intercourse recovery. Study design : An observational and etiologic study was realised in a maternity ward of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (type III). Among the patients of the study, 189 filled on the first questionnary , handed out during their first stay, and 174 filled on the second questionnary, eight weeks after their childbirth. Results : At eight weeks on the postpartum period, 124 patients had reniewed their sex life (71,3%). The patients who had a pain 3 days after the childbirth didn’t statisticly and significantly recover intercourses. The main causes of non-recovery were the scare of having pain and a perineal and/or vaginal pain still felt. The results of the study also underline a negative relation of the perineal pain 3 days after the delivery on the presence of dyspareunia . To conclude, this study links the delivery way and perineal lesions as major factors resulting in a perineal pain and intercourse recovery in the post-partum period. Discussion : The results of this study seemed to match with those of the literature. Nevertheless too few studies were realised until now, that does not allow a precise analyse of the literature.
