De la maîtrise de la reproduction à la sélection génétique, les enjeux de la propagation en aquaculture d'une Rhodophyte : Palmaria palmata

Abstract : Palmaria palmata is a common Rhodophyte in along both sides of the North Atlantic Ocean, from the Arctic to cold-temperate regions. Its use in human food and animal feed, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals gives it a strong economic interest. But its resource is unstable and its harvest does not meet the growing demand of the market. Its mass cultivation, which has met some success for tank and rope cultivation is a good way to meet consumption needs. However, its reproductive cycle is still only partially controlled and few studies have already been done on its genetics.
