Essential oils referenced to the European Medicines Agency
Over the course of the past few years, French consumers have started to look for more natural products. This is particularly trendy in the medical field, as 40% of French people now supposedly use alternative medicine and, notably, phyto-aromatherapy. The place that aromatherapy holds in therapy depends on three different actors. Namely: the prescriber, the pharmacist, and the patient. In pharmacies, the patient can choose among a wide range of essential oils. However, only sixteen of them are referenced by the European Medicines Agency, with well-defined proprieties and characteristics. In order to provide him with the right treatment, the pharmacist must regularly attend training courses to offer him be able to give him trustworthy advice and offer him a high-quality product. This piece of work addresses consumers of essential oils as well as pharmacist who are novice in the field of aromatherapy. In it, they will be able to find the criteria that need being taken into account to create a high-quality essential oil along with a comparison of details regarding the sixteen essential oils that are referenced by the European Medicines Agency.
