Syndrome d'apnées-hypopnées obstructives du sommeil chez l'enfant : étude descriptive dans la population pédiatrique consultant dans le service d’odontologie du CHU de Bordeaux

Abstract : Objective: To evaluate the prevalence of childhood Obstructive Sleep Apnea-Hypopnea Syndrome (OSAHS) in the pediatric population consulting the odontology department of the Bordeaux University Hospital using the Sleep Related Breathing Disorders (SRBD) scale of the Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire (PSQ). The PSQ-SRBD is a validated screening tool in 7 different languages including French. Methods: Cross-sectional study involving 144 children (74 male, 70 female) aged 2-18 years (6.9 +/- 2.75) at the odontology department of the Bordeaux University Hospital. Parents completed a French version of the PSQ-SRBD. Results: 37 children were revealed positive to the PSQ-SRBD score. Conclusions: The PSQ-SRBD is a reliable screening tool to assess OSAHS in children and confirmed that snoring, sleepiness and behavior problems are related to OSAHS.
