Intérêt de la recherche des points myofasciaux du muscle infra épineux dans les douleurs d'épaule communes en médecine générale‎ : étude portant sur 41 cas cliniques

Abstract : Introduction: the shoulder pains are frequent reasons for consultation in general medicine: about 5% or 1 consultation out of 20. It is a complex articulation, both anatomically and functionally and its integrity is essential to us daily. The infraspinatus muscle, an integral part of the rotator cuff, can mimic a pathology of the shoulder via its myofascial syndrome, and this despite its dorsal location. Objective: we wanted to estimate the prevalence of myofascial syndrome of the infraspinatus in a population of patients consulting for a shoulder pain in general medicine. In the same way, we were interested in the characteristics of this pain, in the profile of the concerned patients as well as in their daily life and their activities. Method: our prospective study was conducted with about thirty general practitioners in the Caen area from June 2017 to October 2017. Results: this study made it possible to estimate the frequency of SdMI at 58.5% in this population. A significant link between the cross positivity of the Patte and Jobe tests and the SdMIE was highlighted (73%). Regarding the impact on daily life, 80.5% of patients said they did not find an analgesic position and 72% could not get their hands on their necks. Conclusion: the knowledge of the myofascial syndrome of the infraspinatus and its prevalence opens perspective of additional care for these grounds of consultation more and more frequent in general medicine that are the shoulder pains.
