Analyse et modélisation de leviers d'actions permettant d'accompagner la stratégie bas-carbone de la ferme expérimentale de Trévarez

Abstract : In a context of research for reducing the environmental footprint of farms, Trévarez, a experimental dairy farm is restructuring its system for a so-called "Low Carbon" system. Thanks to the CAP'2ER® tool, a multi-criteria modeling tool for environmental footprints, 5 levers for action have been tested by the simulation of 48 systems. Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions would decrease by 4 to 7% by substituting soybean meal for rapeseed meal. Stopping production concentrates would reduce GHG emissions by 2-5%. Decreasing average age at first calving from 27 months to 24 months has a GHG mitigation potential of 1-2%. Working on the grass harvest stage would reduce GHG emissions by 0 to 2% from late to early reaping. Grouping calvings in the spring would emit 1% more GHG than calving in the fall. However, the Trévarez system requires calves 65% in the fall and 35% in the spring, which would emit 0.7% of GHGs in addition to 100% of the calvings in the spring. The combination of all these levers would give gross GHG emissions of 0.88 kg CO2 eq / liter of milk and the net carbon footprint of 0.77 CO2eq/liter of milk. However, these results do not correspond to the initial objectives (net EC = 0.5-0.7 eq.CO2/liter of milk). Increasing the grassland area would optimize carbon storage and reduce the net carbon footprint of the system.
