L'architecture religieuse gothique en France

Abstract : This study focuses on the onset of Early Gothic architecture in the 12th century. For the first time in the Middle Ages, France enjoyed an era of peace and prosperity which fostered new ways of thinking and bold designs that allowed the creation of religious buildings with its own characteristics: gothic cathedrals. There, spaciousness competes with light in a movement of transcendental verticality.
