Sécurité de renouvellement ou de prescription de dépannage d’un contraceptif oral : enquête auprès de 223 femmes utilisatrices d’un contraceptif oral fréquentant les pharmacies de Bordeaux et de Bergerac

Abstract : Introduction: our research question was what GPs were doing when renewing the pill in not dedicated consultation. The main objective was also to collect the practices of renewal prescriptions of health professionals at the end of an not dedicated consultation on the basis of declaration of the users. Method: quantitative, observational, transversal study using self-administered questionnaires with 223 users aged between 16 and 50, to obtain a prescription for renewal in a pharmacy. They were recruited from 8 pharmacies. Results: 108 pill renewal prescriptions were obtained in a dedicated consultation, 115 in not dedicated consultation, including 50 renewals at the beginning and 65 at the end. For renewals made at the beginning of the consultation, GPs did not search for antecedents for 43.5% of prescriptions. They measured BP for 52.2% of prescriptions. For those completed at the end of the consultation, 74.2% of renewals had not been searched for antecedents, and for 51.6% of renewals, BP was not measured. GPs also achieved 7.2% change in contraception (p<0.05). Professionals did not search for antecedents for 50.8% of renewals, BP was measured for 52.3% and 9.2% of contraceptives were changed when demand came in at the end of the consultation. Conclusion: barely 20% of renewal prescriptions were compliant. In not dedicated consultation, the GPs find it difficult to respect the renewal requirements of prescriptions.
