Place de la psychomotricité en service de neurochirurgie de l’épilepsie : de la mise en place d’un protocole d’étude à la relation thérapeutique en psychomotricité : comment s’adapter dans une prise en charge précoce et intensive ?

Abstract : The goal of this study was, via a protocol composed of both standardized psychomotor tests and early stage, intensive sessions with patients, to evaluate the consequences of epilepsy and surgery on psycho motor functions during pre and postoperative check-ups, as well as to assess the value of the psychomotricity discipline in the neurosurgery department. Epilepsy, through its chronic nature, its frequency and intensity, has consequences on the global health state of the patient: their cognitive abilities, their behavior, their capacity of adaptation to the environment, their socio-professional integration and their psycho corporal state. In the department of neurosurgery, far from their usual place of work, the psycho-motor therapist has to deal with the patients' vulnerability. The surgery, very intrusive on the body level, leads to psycho corporal and functional repercussions that the psycho-motor therapist welcomes and sets in care thanks to their availability and adaptation skills.
