Création d'un produit pépinière prêt-à-poser à destination des consommateurs urbains

Abstract : A sluggish market is currently affecting the horticultural chain in France. Paradoxically, city-dwellers express a high demand of nature and plants. This suggests that there is a gap between the products offered by this sector and consumer demand. Therefore, this dissertation attempts to propose a ready-to-use pot plant that meets the constraints and expectations of urban consumers in plants. Urban consumers are identified to this end, as well as their demands on plant products are too. It appears then that the product will have to combine ease of transport and adaptability to confined space. Excellent aesthetic quality is essential, along with great value for money. Its maintenance should not require any particular knowledge and should not be restrictive. The technical characteristics that enable to respond to these constraints have been defined for each component of the product. This work leads to the conception of a ready-to-use pot plant with a volume of 10L. The autonomy in water is optimized thanks to the selected substrate, and thanks to the water reserve of the pot. The pot plant is constituted with a Lagerstroemia indica, selected for its capability to get by water stress and for its abundant blossoming. Each component is chosen to facilitate the maintenance of the pot plant, and to reduce it at least, but also to obtain a general appearance as aesthetic as possible. The selling price and the nursery margin are defined at the end of the dissertation.
