Connaissance et attractivité des mesures incitatives à l'installation chez les internes de médecine générale de la faculté d'Amiens‎ : étude quantitative réalisée sur la promotion d’internes de médecine générale 2017-2018

Abstract : Introduction: the fight against unequal distribution of physicians in the territory has been a major challenge for the government for several years. Many aids have already been put in place to offset these inequalities. My work consisted in studying these incentives for the installation in the under-equipped zone by a transversal observational study whose main objective was to evaluate the knowledge of the interns of general medicine of Amiens on this aid. The secondary objective was to appreciate the attractiveness of these. Method: a quantitative study was carried out on all the interns of the faculty of Amiens of the promotion 2017/2018 by means of a computer questionnaire. Results: a total of one hundred and eleven interns responded from November 2017 to February 2018. Financial assistance for medical students was known by 59.1% of interns, the best known being the CESP with 97.3% of respondents. On the other hand, only 36.9% of the interns were informed about the aid for the installation and the maintenance of the activity. These measures were however highly appreciated by the various promotions of interns. The best measure according to interns Amiens was the Contract of Assistance to the Installation of Doctors. Incentives did not affect the choice of facility for 81.1% of respondents benefiting from or wishing to receive assistance. Discussion: this study showed that Amiens general medical interns were poorly informed about the incentives to install, while they had a favorable opinion on them. After reading the helpers via the questionnaire, they were interested to benefit from it during their future installation. Measures requiring the least commitment attracted the most interest. It has been found a windfall effect related to these measures for those interns who have already planned in advance to settle in sub-endowed area. Conclusion: these incentives seem still unrecognized but attractive for the interns of general medicine. A reinforcement of the communication on these aids is to continue for the years to come. Although insufficient to correct inequalities in the distribution of general practitioners in France, they improve the professional practice of beneficiaries and accelerate their installation.
