Positionnement et stratégies d'interventions du pharmacien d'officine dans la prise en charge des patients fumeurs en vue de leur sevrage tabagique en France

Abstract : Reducing smoking is currently a major public health issue in France. Indeed, since its importation into Europe in the 15th century, tobacco has become a real scourge, becoming the leading preventable cause of death in France and throughout the world. In the context of the health system reform, the pharmacist is called to play a key role in the fight against tobacco, in particular through his missions of prevention and patients therapeutic education. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the prospects for the management of smokers in pharmacies by taking stock of what is being done, what has been done and what could be done in the field of tobacco control in pharmacies. As the only health professional authorised to provide treatments to help people quit smoking in France, the pharmacist's legitimacy to engage in this field is obvious and experiments with interviews to help people quit in pharmacies have already been conducted in two regions. The results of these experiments highlighted the importance of increasing the training of pharmacists in tobaccoology to homogenize their knowledge and enable them to acquire the necessary skills to manage patients who smoke.
