Prise en charge en ambulatoire des cures de prolapsus génitaux de la femme : étude prospective multicentrique

Abstract : Objective: Evaluate outpatient management of vaginal prolapse surgery (with mesh) and laparoscopy (sacrocolpopexy). Methods: This is a prospective, multicentric study. It was divided in two parts: a feasibility study, where patients were treated under ambulatory conditions, but kept overnight for observation. In the second part of the study, the patients included were those really operated on as outpatients. The main judgement criterion was the ambulatory's success, conditioned by the validation of the Chung score and the voiding recovery of the patients. Results: From September 1, 2017 to February 1, 2019, 25 patients were included in the first part of the study, and 15 in the second part. The feasibility of the ambulatory was validated for 17 patients (85%) operated by the vaginal procedure, and the 5 patients (100%) operated by laparoscopy. In the second part of the study, the ambulatory was a success for the 15 patients included, 2 by the vaginal route and 13 by laparoscopy. Conclusions: Outpatient management of prolapse is possible. The success of this strategy depends in particular on a good selection and information of patients, as well as dedicated protocols. A randomized multicenter study would confirm our results.
