Prise en charge médicamenteuse et accompagnement du patient alcoolo-dépendant à l’officine : proposition d’un questionnaire d’évaluation du traitement

Abstract : Alcoholism is a real public health issue in France. Alcohol dependence is a loss of control of alcohol consumption. The alcoholic is unable to resist to drink despite the harmful consequences of alcohol consumption. The treatment of alcoholism is really complex. Indeed it is difficult for the patient to make the decision to stop drinking. When he is ready, he can choose different strategies : he can reduce his consumption or he can choose weaning (at hospital or at home) followed by a maintenance of abstinence. Depending on the chosen strategy, different drug treatments are available. To prevent relapse, psychological help is essential. The pharmacist has an important role to play in early detection of people at risk of alcoholism. He is also important to help the patients who are already treated. However today the pharmacists still have difficulties to take care of this patients.
