Mise en place de visites didactiques au sein de l’Alliance Française de Padoue (Italie)

Abstract : Both working as a tourist guide and studying French language pedagogy, I’ve been going on an internship for five months within the Alliance Française of Padua, where I’ve received the mission of developing city tours upon the UNESCO candidature for 2020 : Padova Urbs picta – Padua, city of frescoes. These tours were originally meant for Non-language subjects learners. The Alliance tries to attract the secondary schools located in the surroundings with that uncommon activity, closely connected to the city life. The instructional aspect of these tours is at the heart of the process : more than guided, they aim for the students being able to present the Urbs picta heritage in French. I’m therefore exploring the possibilities offered by teaching French for Specific Purposes, in order to answer the needs of the Alliance, and to clearly distinguish mere guided tours from instructional ones.
