CD146 soluble et protéinurie dans la maladie rénale chronique. CPinMRC

Abstract : Introduction: Soluble CD146 (sCD146) is the soluble form of an adhesion protein of the endothelial junction. It seems to be associated with proteinuria in diabetic nephropathy. As albuminuria is an independent cardiovascular risk factor in chronic kidney disease (CKD), we studied the correlation between sCD146 and 24-hour proteinuria in a prospective study including all stages and all etiologies of CKD. Materials and Methods: It was a monocentric prospective study which took place in the Centre de Néphrologie, Dialyse et Transplantation Rénale of Marseille, France. 205 patients were ment to be included, comprising all types of nephropathies, and stratified according to their CKD stage. Blood and urine samples were collected at the time of inclusion for lab measurements and sCD146 assessment. Results: 151 patients were analyzed. sCD146 is not correlated with 24-hour proteinuria (r=0,11, p=0,23) nor albuminuria (r=0,09, p=0,31). On the contrary, sCD146 is correlated with serum creatinine (sCr) (r=0,4, p<0,0001) and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) (r=-0,42, p<0,0001), independently from age, gender, body mass index, diabetes, history of cardiovascular disease (including history of coronary artery disease, stroke, deep venous thrombosis or pulmonary embolism and peripheral artery disease), dyslipidemia and proteinuria. Conclusions: CD146 is not correlated with 24-hour proteinuria. sCD146 is correlated with sCr and eGFR, independently from age, gender, body mass index, diabetes, history of cardiovascular disease, dyslipidemia and proteinuria.
