Dysfonctionnements temporo-mandibulaires : élaboration de fiches de situations types

Abstract : TemporoMandibular Disorders (TMD) is the most common cause of orofacial pain after dental pain. TMD are phenomena that are difficult to comprehend. Indeed, the multitude of factors involved in their etiology as well as all the signs and symptoms leading to consultation for a TMD sometimes entail a complex diagnosis and therefore lead to a risk of inappropriate care choices. The purpose of this work is to identify the most commonly encountered clinical situations in order to index them, in the form of diagnostical and therapeutic cards, and to help the general practitioner in his approach. First of all, we will see some generalities concerning TMD along with the principle of diagnosis and care choices. Then, we will see the clinical guidelines relating to the situations most often met in the TMD consultations.
