Enseigner la lutte contre le racisme à l'école ?

Abstract : Racism can appear very early in the child through preconceived ideas, social networks, media, friends, family, etc. Preventing, combating and raising awareness against this societal drift is one of the goals of our society and therefore of the school. A short survey of 53 teachers from schools in Indre-and-Loire confirmed that the problem existed and was a real pedagogical concern. To encourage awareness and reflection among students in primary schools in cycle 3, a seven-session teaching sequence of Moral and Civic Teaching was conducted with a fourth-grade class to increase the notion of racism. Starting from a dilemma, various participatory tools based on language about pictures and the search for meanings aroused the interest of the students and their involvement in the realization of slogans and posters. This dynamic of accepting others seems to be decisive for the role of the teacher of tomorrow
