Les étiologies des hypoplasies linéaires de l’émail (LEH) dans les populations du passé et actuelles : revue systématique de la littérature

Abstract : The aims of this systematic review of litterature was to identify the different etiologies of linear enamel hypoplasia according to their anatomical characteristics (location on the tooth ant the type of teeth) and the chronological period of the population studied. We searched in the data base MedLine/PubMed, Scopus and Cochrane, according to the PRISMA criteria and selected 24 items. We have identified etiological hypotheses according to the anatomical location of the LEH and we found the same etiological hypotheses according to the chronological periods. A trend has emerged in the percentage of individuals affected by LEH according to the periods. However they are contradictory results within a same period and very few of biases have been noted in these antropological studies. This review doesn’t allow us to conclude on the etiologies of the linear enamel hypoplasia in the past and present population.
