Étude du moi selon une conception plurielle chez Bergson

Abstract : The problem of the personality occupies the philosophy since almost its beginnings. And it still remains today. The fundamental knot seems to lie in the difficulty that philosophers have in defining the self. However, we present here the singular philosophy of Bergson which proposes a new conception of the self, in a form that we will say plural. Between the multiplicity inherent in the world and the person, the self is then modeled on what Bergson calls a dual aspect so the being, both body and mind, can correspond to the two lifestyles teasing us. Thus, thanks to the self, we match with duration and space, offering the opportunity to live socially. Yet our social life seems to affect the balance of the self: is this dual aspect the solution to faithfully represent the interiority of a person? It is this problem that will be the guiding of this work: behind the identity mask affixed by society, who are we? Beyond a new conception of the self, it is a new way of understanding ourselves that is developed by Bergson through an ethical metaphysics.
