Ressenti des médecins généralistes sur un exemple de recherche collaborative entre la médecine ambulatoire et le centre hospitalier universitaire régional de référence : le projet Ange gardien

Abstract : Context: primary care research is essential for the study and understanding of the early stages of various pathologies and environmental factors influencing their development. The Ange Gardien project has attempted to establish a collaboration between general practitioners, liberal organ specialists and university hospital centers around a topic that GPs often face: chronic inflammatory diseases. About sixty general practitioners participated. We therefore tried to understand and analyze the motivations of GPs to participate in this type of project and their objections. Material and method: we used a qualitative method in focus group of general practitioners. Those who participated in the presentation meetings of the project Ange Gardien were selected by sampling in maximum variation. Semi-directed interviews were conducted and responses were analyzed after double encoding. Data was anonymized. Results: 2 groups were formed (4 and 6 physicians) to obtain data saturation. The doctors had different characteristics (age, sex, middle of exercise etc). Mention was made of the consideration of general practitioners, the importance of involving them from the start, the need of involving training, follow-up and feedback. Other aspects - rarely mentioned in the literature - that could hinder the participation of physicians: ethical and deontological questions of the project, transparency of funding and links of interest. Conclusion: the results of our study have allowed us to glimpse some means that could encourage the involvement of general practitioners in primary care research. The study also highlights the objections that must be taken into account. A study could be done concerning the feelings of the patients participating in these projects.
