Le photo-rajeunissement cutané : des techniques variées pour des résultats inégaux

Abstract : Aging skin is a source of concern for a large part of the population, especially when it affects the face. When a patient wishes to counteract the effects linked to aging (dry, wrinkled and fine skin, marked with age spots ...), he/she can consult an aesthetic doctor. The possibilities of treatment are then varied. Indeed, peeling, cosmetic surgery, injecting botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid are only part of the many treatment options. They are all different in terms of indication, outcome, side effects and cost. Among these options, phototherapy is a subcategory of treatment based on the emission of a light source that has been constantly improving for two decades. We can distinguish three types of devices: lasers, intense pulsed light devices (IPL) and light-emitting diode (LED) devices. This thesis focuses on phototherapy. After a reminder of the elements related to aging and their consequences, we will see the distinctions between lasers, IPLs and LEDs, particularly in terms of their therapeutic indications.
