La couverture vaccinale des personnes âgées de 65 ans et plus chez les médecins généralistes maîtres de stage niveau 1 d’Aquitaine de novembre à décembre 2018

Abstract : Introduction: despite the simplification of the vaccination calendar, studies have found low vaccination rates for elderly people (including declarative datas). The aims of this study were to determine a vaccination rate for each recommanded vaccine (except Hepatitis A) among people’s aged from 65 years old (y.o) and more followed by Aquitaine’s general practitioners (GP’s) level 1 supervisors (MSU) based on declarative datas and to observe their practice. Methode: a cross-sectional, descriptive, multicenter study, lead on Aquitaine’s MSU from november to december 2018. « Patient » questionnaries were sent to know the vaccine’s status for each recommanded vaccine and «GP’s » questionnaries to observe GP’s professional practices for elderly people. They received them by posting. GP’s had to collect the first five patients seen on a day. Results: 359 patients and 76 GP’s were included. No one received all recommanded vaccines. 52% of patients were protected from diphteria, poliomyelitis, tetanus (DTP), 32% from pertussis, 64% from influenza during 2017/2018 vaccination campaign. 22% at risk from Invasive Pneumococcal infections (IIP) were totally vaccinated against pneumococcus (13-valent PCV13 and 23-valent PPV23). 3% were vaccinated against shingles, the less GP’s recommended vaccine. Vaccination and computer records were the place where GP’s wrote most of vaccines and reminders. Conclusion: vaccination coverage among 65 y.o and more is still deficient. However, influenza vaccine was mostly performed than nationwide. GP’s must be informed to think to perform vaccines to these people.
