Modalités et spécificités de collaborations école-famille : étude de cas en REP dans l'Est réunionnais

Abstract : The collaboration between schools and families is a complex process which, as soon as elementary school, guides children future good upbringing and success at school. It has a special meaning in Reunion Island. Works from Larivée (2003) have shown its positive impact and have also defined categories of methods used in Canada. From the case study in a primary school belonging to a Priority Educational Network situated in the East of Reunion Island, the terms of the collaboration parents/teachers and the pupils feelings will be described. It gathers a quantitative and qualitative approach based on 5 surveys (questionnaires to teachers N = 59, to parents N’=137, and to children N''' = 127; interviews with parents N''' = 127, interviews with teachers (T= 30' ; N= 2); observation of a school board process (T = 2h30) and children’s drawings (N = 10)). The results have revealed that the different participants do no express the same expectations nor the same limits to the collaboration according to their profiles. Opportunities for collaborative education are possible according to the profile of the protagonists from this Priority Educational Network in Reunion Island.
